School Uniform

The Parents and Citizens Association believe that the presence of a uniform is highly desirable in the contribution to students' behaviour and school spirit.  The P and C totally supports the staff in implementing the uniform policy.

Student Dress

A distinctive school uniform contributes to school tone, safety and pride.  All students are expected to wear this uniform daily.  If worn, undershirts must be plain maroon, plain white or plain black. From time to time, 'free-dress days' are declared to mark a special event.  On these days, students are permitted to wear clothes of a different style but of similar standard.  (These days will be advertised in the school newsletter.)

Football jerseys, denim and flannelette jackets, and bright and/or decorated clothing are unacceptable additions to the school uniform.

Uniform items will be available from the Uniform Shop which is located at the front office of the Primary Campus and at the Tuckshop at the Secondary Campus. EFTPOS facilities are available.

Only students who wear the school uniform are permitted to attend external events. The official school uniform consists of:

Ravenshoe State School Shorts

Ravenshoe State School Shirts

Ravenshoe State School Pants

Ravenshoe State School Jackets

Ravenshoe State School Hats

Hats

The school expects students to wear hats during all outdoor activities.  Full-brimmed hats or legionnaire hats provide the best protection in our climate.  School hats are available for purchase from the office.

Jewellery

Students may wear one fine item of jewellery around their neck and one around their arm as well as one rubber wrist band. The security of any jewellery will be permitted only if it complies with Work Place Health and Safety Regulations and curriculum risk assessments.  Stud or sleeper earrings are permitted. Any jewellery worn to school and later removed to participate in any activity is the responsibility of the student.
